You are probably familiar with the traditional sales funnel&#8230;.contacts, prospects, customers.  In today&#8217;s world, I would like to suggest you look at this again and think about what this means to your business.</p>
<p>The new sales funnel includes above prospects, people searching on your &#8220;topics&#8221; or &#8220;keywords&#8221; or &#8220;search terms&#8221; in search engines. It includes people tweeting on your topics. It includes people reading or writing on blogs or posting in your subject matter.   Your ability to get into those conversations and searches will determine the size of your prospect pool and ultimately your sales.</p>
<p>So people&#8217;s interest and search volumes are the top tier (represented by the green band in the picture above).  </p>
<p>Then comes people who may visit your website(s), blogs etc is your general direct website traffic.</p>
<p>Some of those visitors will be interested in your solutions.  Some may buy immediately but most will want to learn more about you, your company and what you specifically offer.  If you offer valuable information to these &#8220;prospects&#8221; and they accept the information, they &#8220;convert&#8221;.  That means you have given them something of value (like some valuable hints on how to solve their problem) and they have given you something of value like their contact info and permission to market to them.</p>
<p>I love to automatically market to these prospects using a variety of media (video, email, direct mail, phone calls, text messages, and personal visits).</p>
<p>Ultimately, when the time is right, some of these prospects will convert to become customers.</p>
